A new year and I, somewhat belatedly, have finally decided to begin a blog. At the moment I'm sat on the sofa, trying to keep warm while the snow continues to fall outside. I have a pile of marking to complete, and an application for promotion to prepare, but for the moment I'm going to sit back and enjoy a cup of tea while I dream up ideas of how this blog might unfold over the coming weeks and months....
